When we collect your information for volunteer placement:
If you choose to identify yourself or personal information in an online application process, that information will be collected using an insecure connection, but stored on a secure server, and used only for your placement as a volunteer or for subscribing you to our occasional e-letter that contains encouraging volunteer stories and new opportunities to serve.
Placement activities may include staff members contacting you directly or sharing your contact and reference information with location(s) where you might volunteer. To the best of our knowledge, those locations will also keep your information secure; however, your information will be subject to their privacy policies when it is passed along to them.
You may opt out of the e-letter at any time.
When we collect your
information for financial contributions:
Good
Shepherds Bank and RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) process contributions made
online. Their privacy policy is posted
when you log on to their secure servers via the DONATIONS tab of our
website. The donation
system uses SSL encryption to protect sensitive data transmissions from your
computer to our Web site. You are able to see when the SSL encryption is active
either by the "padlock" icon at the bottom of your browser's window.
